Summary Description of Supplemental Outreach Initiatives

2/4 Year Period beginning January 1, 2007 and ending December 1st, 2007

Specify First Initiative: Sponsorship of at least two events in community designed to increase public awareness as to employment opportunities in broadcasting.

Describe activities undertaken to fulfill that initiative: Hosted KMRS/KKOK Home Show, sponsored booth at Stevens County Fair.

Specify Second Initiative: Provision of training to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination.

Meeting with Deborah Mattheis, General Manager and Milissa Bjorge, Traffic/Business Manager, to discuss current needs for FCC, EEO, and Public File maintenance, November 2007.

Specify Third Initiative: Establishment of an intern program designed to assist members of the community to acquire skills needed for broadcast employment.

Describe activities undertaken to fulfill that initiative: Deborah Mattheis, via Milissa Bjorge, sent letters to recruitment sources to be posted for students/individuals interested in pursuing career in broadcasting or journalism.

Specify Fourth Initiative: Provision of training to personnel of unaffiliated, non-profit organizations interested in broadcast employment opportunities that would enable them to better refer job candidates for broadcast positions.

Describe actvities undertaken to fullfill that initiative: Mentoring program set up through Morris Area High School for juniors and seniors to spend a full or half day with on-air staff with interest in broadcasting.
