UMM makes Fiske Guide 11 Jul 18

The Fiske Guide to Colleges 2019 names the University of Minnesota, Morris one of “the best and most interesting” colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, and the UK.  This is the eighth consecutive time Morris has made the cut. 

In its 35th edition, the Fiske Guide to Colleges explores Morris through a broad range of subjects, including: Student body; Academics; Social life; Financial aid; Campus setting; Housing; Food; and Co-curricular activities. Editors note just how comprehensive the campus and its offerings are.


(Big Stone County Fair) 7/11

The Big Stone County Fair will kick off tonight with the open class exhibit entry and 4-H livestock check-in beginning in the morning, poultry judging at 11:30 a.m., dairy and meat goat judging at4:30 p.m., the carnival will open at 5 p.m., the Island Time Band will perform at 7 p.m., and a Texas Hold-em Tournament will also be held at 7. Thursday’s Fair events include rabbit judging, a 4-H horse show, bingo, carnival and headliners Sawyer Brown taking the stage at 6 p.m. And Friday’s events include the Melody Kings performing at 2 p.m., appearances by Clueless the Balloon Twister from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Becky Schlegel Trio performing at 6:30 and 8 p.m., the Grandstand event at 7 p.m., and the Rock N Roll Farmer at 9 p.m.  Admission and parking are free.
