Tigers Anderson & Dietz Named All-Section, Five From Border West 10 Jul 18

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta senior pitcher Brock Anderson was named to the 3AA All-Section team by the Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association. 

Anderson was 2-1 with a 5.081 ERA this past spring for the Tigers, striking out 25 and posting a 1.71 WHIP. At the plate he was a .257 hitter, with three of his nine hits going for extra-bases. Anderson knocked in four RBI’s and scored seven runs. 

The 6A All-Section baseball team featured five players from Border West, which tied Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa for most. 

From the Bucs Sam Adelman, Bryce Hoffman, Matt Thielen, Nelson Schmidt, and Spencer Ellison received the honor. Brandon-Evansville had three players named, including Marshall Riedel, Brandon Merritt, and Taylor Bitzan. 

Peyton Rohloff and Zach Flaten of the Hancock Owls were also named All-Section. 

In softball the Tigers Liz Dietz was named 3AA All-Section as a follow up to her West Central Conference MVP season. Dietz was 15-4 with a 1.88 ERA in the circle, striking out 97 to just six walks, at the plate she hit .462 with 28 RBI’s and seven runs scored. Six of her 30 hits went for extra-bases including two home runs.
