On Monday, June 18th, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., there will be a full scale exercise in the City of Morris. The exercise (drill) will be held in the vicinity of the Stevens County Fairgrounds.

Increased traffic can be expected, sirens may be heard while emergency vehicles and emergency response personnel practice responding to a large scale incident during the time. This is only an exercise and there is no need to be concerned.

During the day of June 18th, there will be a CodeRed alert sent out to everyone in Stevens County who has registered for the emergency alert notices. If you have not previously registered, you may go to the Stevens County Official website and click on the work CodeRed to register.

A second communications test will take place between 6:30  p.m. and 7:30 p.m. the evening of June 18th. This test will be sent out to cell phones in Stevens County, this test may also reach cell phones in neighboring counties. The message will state, ‘this is only a test.’ After the test has ended, a brief survey will be available on the Stevens County Minnesota Emergency Management Facebook page; we would like to collect information from those individuals who received the test alert.

We appreciate your patience and understanding with the increased traffic in the City of Morris during the exercise. Roadblocks can be expected in the vicinity of the Fairgrounds between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 18th.
