Chargers Hit Parade Gets 2018 Started On Winning Note 20 Apr 18

BASEBALL
Brandon-Evansville 10, Ottertail Central 9
EVANSVILLE – Brandon-Evansville scored nine runs in the middle frames to secure a 10-9 win over Ottertail Central in the baseball opener for each team on Thursday.
Trailing 3-0, the Chargers put together a six-run third followed by a three-run fourth and held on as the Bulldogs mounted a comeback over the final three innings.
Trey Bosek finished 2-3 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored while tossing four innings on the hill. Marshall Riedel had two hits with a pair of RBIs, Tanner Bitzan and Jake Hintermeister each had two hits, two runs and an RBI for the Chargers who totaled 13 hits as a team. Tanner Bitzan got the win with an inning of relief. Andy Weniger was 2-3 with four RBIs for OTC, Benet Cameron took the loss.

SOFTBALL
West Central Area 5, Browerville 1
BARRETT – Brianna Kreft stuck out 10 batters and had good defense behind her and the West Central Area Knights opened their softball season with a 5-1 win over Browerville on Thursday.
Kreft allowed a run on four hits, walked six and hit two batters but was able to keep the Tigers offense from stringing much together. At the plate the Knights had 15 hits as a team and committed no errors in the field.
