COLLEGEVILLE – Brandon-Evansville’s softball team was able to get their season started on Friday with a doubleheader against Browerville from the Gagliardi Dome on the campus of St. John’s University.

The Tigers earned the sweep with a 3-0 win in game one, 2-1 in game two. Each game was a five inning affair.

The Chargers struggled to get the offense rolling, as Tigers pitcher Marissa Callahan held B-E to just two hits to earn the win in game one. Kristin Kokett suffered the loss, allowing three runs on three hits over five innings. Kokett walked five but struck out nine.

In game two, a few defensive miscues cost the Chargers. Sara Jacobson allowed two runs (one earned) on just one hit, striking out seven. Kokett went 1-3 with a home run.
