Four Tigers Receive Conference Honors In Girls Basketball 26 Mar 18

MORRIS – The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers had four players earn West Central Conference honors. 

Junior Riley Decker along with sophomores Malory Anderson and Maddie Carrington were named All-Conference selections while junior Liz Dietz was named Honorable Mention. 

Anderson led the Tigers with 17.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 3.9 steals per game, while shooting 50 percent from the floor. She recorded 11 double-doubles including a 23 point, 20 rebound performance against ACGC on January 26. 

Carrington was the Tigers top outside shooter, scoring 13.3 points per game with 2.5 assists, shooting 34 percent from three-point range, and defensively getting 3.3 steals a game. 

Decker ran the offense from the point guard spot, adding some long-range shooting as well, averaging 8.9 points with 2.6 assists. 

Dietz was second on the team with 4.3 rebounds a game, adding 4.0 points and 2.8 assists. 

Sauk Centre senior Maesyn Thiesen was named the conference Most Valuable Player after leading the Mainstreeters to a perfect 33-0 record and a 2A state title.
