The MBA Storm Bantams are the Minnesota Class B third place winners as they defeated Moorhead Black by a score of 5-4 in overtime. It was the third straight overtime game between the two teams with Moorhead defeating the Storm in the District finals but MBA turned the tables in both the Region finals and this 3rd place game.

Moorhead jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Brady Loge got the Storm on the board. Moorhead then scored two quick goals and it was 4-1. Brady Goff and Reece Kuseske got goals for the Storm to close the gap to 4-3 at the end of the second period.

That’s the way the score stayed until the Storm pulled goalie Brady Backman in the final minute and Ryan Tolifson scored with just 16 seconds left to tie the game at 4-4.

Just 21 seconds into the overtime period Sam Thompson knocked home the rebound of a Will Breuer shot to win it for the Storm.

The Bantams ended their season with a record of 34-11-5. They were the District 15 regular season champions and tournament runner-up, the North Region champions, and State Tournament third place winners.

The MBA Storm Pee Wees ended the season by winning the consolation championship in the state tournament. They defeated Lake of the Woods by a score of 9-3.
