SOFTBALL
PLYMOUTH, Minn. – Just like the first day, Minnesota Morris took two of three Friday on the final day of the North Central Dome Softball Tournament in Plymouth.

The Cougars gained victories over Maranatha Baptist and North Central and dropped a tight contest against Finlandia.

Against the Rams, Megan Knickerbocker got things going in the right direction quickly as she rounded the bases with a lead-off triple and run on an error.

UMM scored five times in the second to break it open. Lacey Sullivan and Michelle O’Rourke had run-producing singles and Clare Hamer delivered a 2-RBI double that put the Cougars up, 7-0.

Lydia Mann was stellar in the circle as she went all five innings in the 9-1 victory. She allowed only four hits and struck out two.

Kallie Wycoff had hits in all three at-bats. Becca Holland and Paige Dahlberg each collected two hits.

Minnesota Morris (6-14) is off until March 28 when they are scheduled to have their home opener against Martin Luther.
