Tigers & Lakers To Meet In 3AA-North Playoffs On Saturday Night 19 Feb 18

MORRIS – The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers have earned the no. 5 seed in the 3AA-North Sub-Section playoffs for girls basketball. 

The Tigers will head to Minnewaska Area high school to face the fourth seeded Lakers at 7:30 on Saturday night in the quarterfinal round. 

The Tigers (15-9) and Lakers (13-11) split their two regular season meetings, with the home team winning each time. 

The playoffs begin on Thursday night in Montevideo with the play-in game between the Thunderhawks (4-17) and Paynesville (1-23). That winner will draw top seed Eden Valley-Watkins (22-3) in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Other quarterfinal matchups already set for Saturday include second seed New London-Spicer (18-6) hosting seventh seed Benson (5-23), and third seed Litchfield (12-12) hosting sixth seed Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City (9-15). Those games will each tip-off at 7:00.

The semfinals round will be played at a neutral site on Thursday, March 1st. 

In the south sub-section top seeded Tracy-Milroy-Balaton will host St. James Area on Saturday.

Other matchups include second seed Martin County West hosting Windom Area, third seed Jackson County Central hosting Redwood Valley, and fourth seed Pipestone Area at home against Luverne.
