Tigers Top Redmen, Owls Win Streak Snapped In Dawson 12 Feb 18

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 52, Sisseton 41
MORRIS – Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta forced 25 turnovers and held off Sisseton for a 52-41 win at the Tiger Center on Monday.
The Redmen were held to just 25 percent shooting in the first half, and turned the ball over on their first four second half possessions before chipping away at a 16-point deficit, eventually getting within eight after hitting eight of their final ten shots.
The Tigers though hit enough free throws in crunch time to keep a safe distance and earn the win.
Malory Anderson led the Tigers with 21 points on 7-11 shooting and pulled down 10 rebounds. Riley Decker scored 14 with five steals, Maddie Carrington added 13 points and six steals for the Tigers who improve to 14-9. Alyssa Magnuson led all scorers with 23 points and six rebounds and Sisseton fell to 5-13.

West Central Area 54, Hillcrest Lutheran 30
FERGUS FALLS – West Central Area held Hillcrest to 10 points in the first half, and continued to pull away in the second for a 54-30 win over the Comets.
Ella Van Kempen recorded another double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, Brianna Kreft had six points with seven rebounds and three steals, Amanda Dreschel added six points. The Lady Knights are now 17-6. The Comets are 1-19.

Parkers Prairie 74, Browerville 30

Dawson-Boyd 78, Hancock 67
DAWSON – Hancock’s comeback from 22 down came up just short on Monday, falling to Dawson-Boyd 78-67.
The Owls got within one possession of the Blackjacks before they pulled away down the stretch. Noah Kannegiesser hit seven three-pointers and finished with 45 points, Bennett Nienhaus and Connor Reese each finished with 10 for the Owls who saw their 11-game winning streak get snapped, falling to 18-2.
Bentley Boike led the Jacks with 26 points and Alex Swenson added 22 as they improve to 16-5. 

Hillcrest Lutheran 65, Wheaton/Herman-Norcross 58
WHEATON – Matt Thielen hit eight three-pointers and finished with 33 points in a losing effort, as Wheaton/Herman-Norcross lost to Hillcrest 65-58.
The Warriors were 11-31 from beyond the arc as a team, getting 12 points from Hunter Johnson, but falling to 3-15.
Gabe Preston had 21 points for the Comets, Sander Frustol added 13 with eight rebounds and Hillcrest is now 9-9.

West Central Area vs. Upsala
UPSALA – The West Central Area Knights used a balanced scoring attack in a 67-21 rout of Upsala.
The Knights took a 38-13 lead into halftime and didn’t let the break slow them down, with 13 different players scoring. Logan Paulson had 12 points with seven rebounds, Jack Van Kempen had 11 with six boards, and Grant Beuckens added 10 points as the Knights shot 50 percent from the field, inlucding 9-18 on three-pointers improving to 13-7. Upsala was held to just 18 percent shooting as they fall to 2-19.

Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley 74, Community Christian School of Willmar 39
WILLMAR – Caleb Cardwell hit nine threes finishing with 32 points to lead Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley’s in a rout of Community Christian School of Willmar 74-39. The Wolverines snap a six-game losing streak and are 3-13. The Eagles fall to 6-9.
