Lakers Hot Shooting Second Half Helps Them Take Down Tigers 10 Feb 18

GLENWOOD – Minnewaska erased an eight-point halftime deficit and defeated Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 69-58 in girls hoops on Friday night.
The Tigers ended the first half on a 14-4 run before the Lakers responded by shooting 56 percent in the second half and holding the Tigers to just 28 percent.
The Lakers shot 50 percent for the game getting 16 points and seven rebounds from Ellie Danielson, 15 points from Emma Thorfinnson and nine from Isabella Ortendahl. Lexi Piekarski added six points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Lakers who are 11-11.
Malory Anderson had 17 points with seven rebounds for the Tigers, Maddie Carrington had 17 points and Liz Dietz added 11 as they fall to 13-9.

Hancock 63, Ashby 37
HANCOCK – Hancock won their 12th straight game in a rout of Ashby 63-37 on Friday.
The Owls shot 53 percent from the field and got 29 points, four assists, and six steals from Noah Kannegiesser. Bennett Nienhaus scored 11 and Kaleb Koehl added 10 for the Owls who are 18-1 on the season. Ashby got 16 points from Jaden Norby as they fall to 3-14.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross 68, Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley 52
GRACEVILLE – Matt Thielen and Hunter Johnson combined for 36 points to help Wheaton/Herman-Norcross snap an eight game losing streak with a 68-52 win over Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley.
The Warriors shot 42 percent from the floor and held the Wolverines to just 28 percent shooting. Thielen had 19 points, Johnson recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and the Warriors are 3-14.
Bryce Hoffmann led the Wolverines with 17 points, Casey Nilson added 13 as they fall to 2-13.
