Owls Earn Sweep Of RCW At Target Center 15 Jan 18

BOYS BASKETBALL
Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 79, Pelican Rapids 59
PELICAN RAPIDS – Jaret Johnson scored a career-high 32 points to lead Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta to a 79-59 win over Pelican Rapids on Saturday.
Johnson shot 12-18 from the field including 4-4 from three-point range. The Tigers who have struggled from three-point range this season, seem to be finding their shot. After hitting 10 threes on Thursday against West Central Area, were 12-23 on Saturday.
Camden Arndt hit 4-6 threes and finished with 14 points, Connor Koebernick and Jackson Loge each finished with nine and the Tigers improve to 6-7, winners of four straight. The Vikings fall to 5-7.

Hancock 87, Renville County West 62
MINNEAPOLIS – With scouts in the seats, N0ah Kannegiesser didn’t disappoint scoring 45 points and leading Hancock to an 87-62 win over Renville County West at Target Center on Saturday.
The Owls overcame a size disadvantage and early foul trouble to defeat the Jaguars, who couldn’t slow the up-tempo pace of the Owls.
Kannegiesser added seven rebounds, seven assists, and six steals for the Owls who got 10 points from Connor Reese, and six points with six rebounds from Kaleb Koehl.
Nathan Serbus was a problem all day for the Owls, scoring 18 points with 13 rebounds. Justin Schrupp hit five threes and finished with 15 points for the Jaguars who fall to 7-8. The Owls are now 9-1.

Parkers Prairie 73, Wheaton/Herman-Norcross 38
WHEATON – Ryan Blake scored 23 points and led Parkers Prairie to a 73-38 win over Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Saturday.
Blake was 8-12 from the field and got 15 points from Austin Koep while Noah Koep added 11.
Matt Thielen scored 16 for the Warriors, Nelson Schmidt added seven as they fall to 2-9. The Panthers are 11-1.

Osakis 74, Brandon-Evansville 46
OSAKIS – Osakis locked down on Brandon-Evansville and earned a 74-46 win on Saturday.
Tanner Bitzan had 18 points and Tanner Bitzan scored nine while the Chargers offense was held in check for most the night. The Chargers are now 6-5, the Silverstreaks improve to 7-5.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Hancock 56, Renville County West 25
MINNEAPOLIS – Ashlyn Mattson continued her hot three-point shooting and led Hancock to a 56-25 win over Renville County West on Saturday from Target Center.
Haley Mattson added 14 points for the Owls who allowed the Jaguars to make just two field goals in the second half, and just 22 percent for the game.
Tess Steiner added eight points with five rebounds and eight assists and the Owls are 5-3. The Jaguars fall to 0-14.
