Time Running Out For “Labels For Education” 01 Jan 18

Bad news for local schools – the Labels For Education program is coming to an end.

Since 1974, Campbell’s, and associated brands such as V8, Pepperidge Farm, and SpaghettiOs have invited you to cut off the barcodes, and mail them to the company, with proceeds going back to local schools (where they purchase needed classroom supplies).

“During the past year,” says a statement on the Campbell’s website, “we’ve been assessing the impact of these programs and through this, we’ve seen that participation in Labels for Education has declined considerably. Sadly, it is at the point where we have no choice but to make the very difficult decision to wind down the program.”

As of yesterday, across our local schools: West Central Area leads the way with more than 57,000 points (that’s a combination of all buildings), Glacial Hills Elementary of Starbuck has over 33,000, Woodland Elementary of Alexandria has almost 24,000, the Minnewaska School District (collectively) and Northside Elementary of Benson both have roughly 20,000 points, and Pearson Elementary of Wheaton has roughly 12,000.

You can mail the barcodes (with Labels For Education logo) to the following address:
