Prep Results: Tigers & Mainstreeters Set Stage For Big Match On Thursday 10 Oct 17

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 3, Melrose 0
MELROSE – The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers took a big step toward another West Central Conference title on Tuesday night with a sweep of Melrose 25-13, 25-14, 25-16.
The Tigers led from start to finish and avenged an earlier loss to Melrose to move ahead of the Dutchmen in the conference standings. Riley Decker racked up 29 digs and was 13-13 serving. Bailey Marty had 22 digs, Jenna Howden recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs, and Karly Fehr added 33 assists for the Tigers who are 17-5 on the season and now 11-1 in conference action.
Melrose fell to 18-4 overall, 10-2 in conference play.
The win sets up a big showdown with Sauk Centre on Thursday after the Mainstreeters defeated Minnewaska on Tuesday, both teams are 11-1. The match can be heard on 1230 KMRS.

SAUK CENTRE – Sauk Centre kept pace with the MACA Tigers in the conference standings with a sweep of Minnewaska 25-15, 25-7, 25-20 on Tuesday.
Bailey Stewart led the Lakers with 12 digs, Kelsey Johnson had five assists and five digs as they fall to 4-15 overall, 1-11 in conference play. Sauk Centre improved to 21-6, 11-1 in the conference.

Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley 3, Ortonville 1
ORTONVILLE – The CGB Wolverines wrapped up a perfect conference season with a four-set win over Ortonville on Tuesday 22-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-16.
The Wolverines got 34 digs from Marlie Maanum who was 19-19 serving with an ace, Tylaina Issendorf had 29 assists, Emma Botker led with 18 kills and Sydney Hynnek block six hits at the net.
CGB is now 18-6 overall, and finish the Pheasant Conference season a perfect 8-0 with the conference title in tow.
The Trojans are 5-10, 3-4 in conference play.

Underwood 3, Brandon-Evansville 0
UNDERWOOD – The Underwood Rockets are closing in on a perfect Little Eight Conference season after a 25-12, 25-12, 25-20 win over Brandon-Evansville.
The Rockets were sharp against an inconsistent Chargers squad to improve to 10-0 in the conference, 17-6 overall.
Madison Quinn had 17 assists, Emily Bukkila 12 digs, Allie Satterlie and Bailey Schaefer combined for 14 kills as the Chargers fall to 10-11, 5-5 in conference.

CROSS COUNTRY
PERHAM – Lexi and Jacob Bright led the West Central Area girls and boys cross country teams to a pair of second place finishes at the Heart O’ Lakes Conference meet in Perham on Tuesday.
Jacob took first place in the 5K with a time of 16:10, while Lexi finished third with a time of 19:38.
Along with Lexi, three other Knights girls earned All-Conference honors including Bryn Fernholz (12th), Teagan Nelson (13th), and Ella Van Kempen (15th).
Joining Jacob on the All-Conference list for the boys was Jack Van Kempen (12th) and Kyle Schill (13th).
The Perham boys and girls swept the event with a pair of first place finishes.
