Morris Fire Department Launches Week Of Events 09 Oct 17

National Fire Prevention and Awareness Week starts today, and the Morris Fire Department has some big plans in store.

To kick things off, local firefighters have scheduled their annual delivery night with the Pizza Ranch of Morris. Last year, the Fire Department used their fleet to make 78 food deliveries in the span of four hours, and they have high hopes of topping that this year.

The delivery window is from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, and Pizza Ranch staff are asking you to schedule your orders in advance. Deliveries cannot be made to locations outside of the Morris city limits, though everyone is invited to dine in or carry out. All proceeds will be used to purchase new equipment for the Morris Fire Department.

On Tuesday, October 10, the Fire Department will open its doors from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. for free tours, which will be open to area daycares. The building is located at 209 State Highway 9, on the south side of Morris.

This Saturday, the Fire Department has three events planned – a free battery giveaway at the Town & Country (909 Atlantic Avenue) from 10:00 a.m. until Noon, free fire truck rides at the Morris Theatre from Noon until 2:00 p.m., and a free screening of Sing at the Morris Theatre that starts at 2:00 p.m.
