Another Bullpen Collapse Keeps Twins From Sweeping Giants 12 Jun 17

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco Giants avoided a three-game sweep with a 13-8 win over the Twins yesterday.

The Twins held a 5-4 lead heading into the seventh inning, then the Twins bullpen allowed nine runs over the next two innings. Buster Posey had three hits and four RBI’s for the Giants, Austin Slater drove in four runs, and Josh Osich picked up the win in relief.

The Giants hit a frachnise-tying eight doubles in the win.

Eduardo Escobar and Byron Buxton homered for Minnesota. Matt Belisle was charged with the loss. Nik Turley made his major league debut for the Twins, he allowed four runs over four inning for a no-decision. 

Minnesota returns home tonight to host Seattle at Target Field at 7:10 PM.
