A 23-year-old Brooten man was injured early Sunday morning in a one-vehicle crash that caused power outages in the Belgrade area.
According to a news release from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Jordan Michael Lewis was driving west on County Road 19 shortly after 4:30 a.m. when his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve.
Lewis’ vehicle left the roadway and vaulted across County Road 200, striking a power pole. The pole was sheared off near the base, and several power lines came down, causing power outages.
The vehicle rolled, and its airbags deployed. Lewis was able to call a friend for help, and the friend called 911.
The Belgrade Fire Department and Brooten Ambulance responded to the scene, and Lewis was transported to Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.
He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the Sheriff’s Office release.
The accident is under investigation.
