North Dakota Awards $71M in Energy Impact Grants 28 Jun 13

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota’s state land board has awarded $71 million in grants aimed at helping communities in the western part of the state deal with rapid oil development.

The Energy Impact Grants awarded Thursday will go to 20 oil patch communities for water and sewer projects and other infrastructure improvements.

State officials say a total of about $240 million in Energy Impact Grants will be awarded over the next two-years.
