A Glenwood man accused of using electronic communication to engage in sexual conversations with a child will appear in court today (Wednesday). Nineteen year old Adam Schroeder allegedly sent sexually explicit text messages to a fourteen-year old female and is charged with one felony count of attempting to “Engage in Electronic Communication Relating or Describing Sexual Conduct with Child.”
The alleged incident happened on January 3, 2013, when Schroeder and the minor female sent the sexually-tinged text messages via cell phones. According to the criminal complaint, Schroeder later admitted to Pope County law enforcement officers he knew the victim was underage.
An second felony charge of solicitation was dismissed following an omnibus hearing in April. A second omnibus hearing will be held at the Pope County Courthouse this morning at 9:30 a.m.
