Thirteen graduating studio art majors are honored to be sharing their work at the 2013 Senior Art Exhibition in the Humanities Fine Arts (HFA) Gallery at the University of Minnesota, Morris. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 18, at 7 p.m., with artist introductions beginning at 7:30 pm. This exhibit runs through the University’s 50th Commencement on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
This exhibit promises artwork covering a broad range of compelling subject matter in a wide variety of media. Graduating artists and work featured include Kat Belluomini ’13, Gurnee, Illinois, drawing/graphic novel; Samantha Bruno ’13, Foley, sculpture, bookmaking, fiber arts; Mara Facilie ’13, Maplewood, fiber arts, printmaking; Megan Fitzgerald ’13, Hancock, stop- motion film, printmaking; Sidney Hintz 13’, Canby, painting, photography; Hanna Hudson ’13, White Bear Lake, painting, printmaking; Katie Larkin ’13, Waseca, painting; Deb Larson ’13, Ortonville, painting, sculpture; Taylor Livingston ’13, Roseville, drawing; Zoe Prinds-Flash ’13, Minneapolis, photography; Lauren Rudy ’13, Elk River, painting; Dani Schmitz ’13, Wadena, photography; and Tyler Weber ’13, Lafayette, Colorado, printmaking.
“As a non-traditional student who returned to school in my forties to pursue my artistic calling, I am blown away by what the students in my graduating class are creating,” says Larson, senior show publicity. “They all have amazing imaginations and the talent to carry out their ideas. I am honored to have my work shown with theirs.”
