This weeks Artist of the Week is: The Band Perry

- The band consists of siblings: Kimberly, Reid, & Neil
– They were signed to Republic Nashville in August of 2009 and have released seven singles since.
– They have released one studio album with their second on the way. “Pioneer” will be released on April 2nd as a follow up to their debut self-titled album “The Band Perry”.
– The Band Perry were first discovered by Garth Brooks’ manager Bob Doyle who helped them with their first recordings.
– Some of their hobbies when not playing music are looking at antiques, riding horses, and fly fishing.
– When asked who they would love to tour with, they responded with Lorretta Lynn and The Rolling Stones
– Their favorite movie for all three is “The Godfather”
– They had two number one songs on their debut album with “If I Die Young” & “All Your Life”
– “The Band Perry” also reached number two on the charts. They have had five singles reach top ten status.
– Some awards they’ve won include:

  • 2011 ACM Top New Artist
  • 2011 CMA New Artist
  • 2011 CMA Song of the Year (If I Die Young)

- Their upcoming album “Pioneer” has already produced a number single with “Better Dig Two”
