Beth Holland, a junior at the Morris Area Schools, has been selected as one of the Minnesota State High School League’s 2013 ExCEL Award recipients. The award recognizes Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership. There were 32 recipients from around the state.
Holland was nominated for the award by the Morris Area Schools. Each school is allowed to nominate one male and one female each year. Holland was nominated with Bryce Jurgenson.
Holand is involved in a number of activities, including Robotics, FFA, Business Professionals of America, Sportsmanship Conference, the Anti-Bullying Program, Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field, Softball, Band, and Choir. She is also extensively involved in the community, volunteering for Adopt a Highway, Feed My Starving Children, and as a youth sports coach.
The State High School League will present the award recipients during the halftime of the Girls’ AA Championship Game on Saturday, March 16. The game starts at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony will be televised.
