Hancock City Council Starts New Member Search 15 Jan 13

The Hancock City Council is looking for a new member.

Following the election of seated member Bruce Malo to the Office of Mayor, the Hancock City Council will appoint a fifth member to finish Malo’s term through November 2014. On Monday, November 14, the board passed a resolution declaring the vacancy and announced a call for applications. To apply for the position, fill out an application at the Hancock City Office. Applications will be accepted through February 6th and the council plans to make an appointment at their regular meeting on February 11.

The same guidelines apply for the special appointment as they do for a regular election: applicants must have lived within the municipality for 30 days and can not be a convicted felon.

At Monday’s meeting, following his own swearing in, Mayor Malo swore in newly elected council member Bob Staples.
