PARIS (AP) – French police investigating a suspected hotel prostitution ring that has implicated police and other officials are questioning the former head of the International Monetary Fund. Dominique Strauss-Kahn arrived at the police station in the northern city of Lille this morning.
Police have questioned prostitutes who said they had sex with Strauss-Kahn during 2010 and 2011 in Paris and also in Washington, D.C.
Strauss-Kahn lived in the U.S. while he was head of the IMF. He resigned his position in May after being accused of sexually assaulting a hotel maid in New York.
Two men with ties to Strauss-Kahn have been put under preliminary investigation in France.
Strauss-Kahn’s name surfaced in the investigation last fall. One of Strauss-Kahn’s lawyers has said that the former French presidential hopeful never knew that the women at orgies he attended were prostitutes.
