It was a March on Morris last night during Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. UMM’s Office of Community Involvement and their Office of Equity, Diversity, and Intercultural Programs, along with the Morris Human Rights Commission, held a program yesterday at the Morris Theatre. Speakers included Morris Mayor Sheldon Giese, UMM Chancellor Jacqueline Johnson, the Morris Human Rights Commission’s Anne Streed, and UMM Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Sandy Olson Loy.
About fifty people marched from the theatre to the Senior Community Center where more than a hundred enjoyed the community meal together. The next community meal will be held February 27.
